Devastis... is an asshole. But he likes to think of himself as a business man, and despite being a Laerad, (the species' name) he acts... quite human.

Which is bad.

When Briar was taken, amongst a couple of others, he was caught as well. Despite being one of the strongest in the herd, he didn't kill his captor; he bargained. After some deliberation, the two had a pact: he would find and aid capture of more Laerad if he was allowed to mate and kill whomever he wanted of their quarry. The human, of course, agreed.

Devastis began with killing the herd leader and the stronger males that opposed him, along with some other rebels. When the other herd members learned their places, he appointed Fecilia, Briar's childhood crush, as his mate and impregnated her with three of his spawn. Within the next month or two, he and Fecilia will go into hiding for the litter's birth.

He doesn't realize Fecilia would go so far as to try and kill her own litter. The fact that she would be strong enough to go through that doesn't enter his mind.

Bastard.

Like Briar, Dev's colors are mostly earthly colors. He has more brown than green, and even red in some parts.
